Back to OptionsThe Alert Settings dialog allows you to configure how AstraSync will alert you to new emails.
Note: If you are using Monitor with AstraSync the alert options within AstraSync will be disabled. You should configure the alerts in the device profiles instead.• You can enable audio alerts, vibration alerts or both by selecting the relevant check boxes. Please note that vibrations will only be activated when AstraSync is open on the device.
• You can define the number of tones played for the audio alert and the number of vibration pulses using the drop down lists. This setting will also affect the custom alert tone if you have set one.
• If you want to ensure AstraSync always vibrates when a new message arrives check the 'Show inbox when new message arrives' option.
• You can specify a custom alert tone (media file) to play instead of using the device beep tone. To enable this check the relevant check box and select a tone from the device memory by pressing the 'Change Custom Alert' button.
This will bring up a file browser allowing you to choose the file to play. You will have to give permission to access local storage to select the tone file due to operating system restrictions.
Please Note: A security exception can occur if you choose a wav file from particular protected directories. To work around this use the media application to copy the desired tone to another folder.• You can define set the custom alert tone volume using the drop down list. This settings has no effect on the default alert tone.
