Synchronizing meeting attendees in AstraSync

If you plan to select the option 'Synchronize meeting attendees' in AstraSync (under Options > Calendar Settings) and you already have a BIS account on the BlackBerry device, then you MUST delete the CICAL service books or risk having the BIS account sending out meeting notifications for all your meetings with attendees.

To remove the service books please follow these instructions.

Set up the BIS Email account if you have not done so already. Wait between 30 to 60 minutes so that the device can receive the service books. Delete the CICAL Service Book before installing/setting up AstraSync:

To Delete the CICAL Service Books:

1.From the device Home screen, select Options > Advanced Options > Service Book. 2.Scroll through to locate any item that ends with [CICAL] (there may be more than one) and delete them by selecting



If you are already running AstraSync on your device (and syncing meeting attendees), but wish to setup a BIS account on the device, then please do the following:

1. Stop the syncing of Calendar. This is done under Menu > Options > Sync Settings. Unselect Calendar, then hit Menu > Save. This will remove calendar items from your device. 2. Set up the BIS Email account(s). 3. Allow about 1 hour to ensure the service books were received, then delete the CICAL service book (see step 3 at the top of this page). 4. Perform a soft reset (remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, replace the battery). 5. Resume the syncing of Calendar. This is done under Menu > Options > Sync Settings. Select Calendar, then hit Menu > Save.

NOTE: If you do not plan to select the option 'Synchronize meeting attendees' in AstraSync, then you do not need to follow the procedures listed here.
