In order to completely remove AstraSync from your device, including the Contacts and Calendar items it synced from your Exchange server, other steps must be performed before uninstalling the application. This is because the uninstall process will only remove data from the AstraSync application, Contacts and Calendar are stored in the device's native store.
EditRemove Contacts and Calendar Events
First you have to remove the Contacts and Calendar events through AstraSync. From the AstraSync inbox view, go to Options > Sync settings and untick Contacts and Calendar. You will get a warning about "Resetting Contacts/Calendar will delete all items from the device. Are you sure?". Select 'Yes' from the menu. The hour glass will likely appear as the items are deleted from the device, you can check the progress from the Sync Status screen.
At this point the BlackBerry Contacts and Calendar applications should now be empty. The items have not been deleted from your server account and can be re-synced at any time.
EditUninstall AstraSync Application
It is now safe to uninstall the application. From the Home screen, go to Options > Advanced Options > Applications, after a few seconds a list of applications should appear with AstraSync near the top. Highlight AstraSync, select 'Delete' from the menu and then 'Delete' again from the dialog. You will then be asked to restart your device, select 'Yes'. When the device reboots AstraSync will be completely removed.
